Is ClavePrep free for individual candidates?: Yes. If you're preparing on your own, the core experience is free — AI mock interviews, the ATS resume checker, the STAR answer builder, and the full free-tools suite. Every account starts with 20,000 Claves and tops up by 5,000 more each day to power the AI features. Paid plans are aimed at teams and institutions that need shared seats and central administration, but they also give individuals more room to prepare longer and early access to new tools as they ship.
What's the difference between the free and paid plans?: The free plan is built for solo interview prep: practice, the free-tools suite, and a generous daily Clave allowance. Paid plans raise your usage allowances so you can prepare longer without hitting limits, unlock early access to new tools as they launch, and add the team and institution features — centrally managed seats, and admin oversight — that let bootcamps, colleges, and companies prepare candidates at scale.
How does per-seat billing work?: Paid plans are billed per seat — one seat per active member — at $15 per seat each month. Add or remove seats as your team or cohort changes, and you're charged only for seats in use during the period. A 6-month commitment saves 20% compared with paying monthly.
What are Claves, and do they expire?: Claves are the in-app credits that power AI features like mock interviews, question generation, and feedback. New accounts get a starter balance, and eligible accounts receive a daily top-up that resets every day, so an unused balance doesn't carry over. Paid plans come with higher allowances. Exact balances and reset rules are enforced server-side.
